Happy 1st Birthday Lila!!!!!!!!!!

A look back...(if you don't like long posts.. this one is NOT for you)..

Words can not express how excited we are that today is Lila's first birthday.. as many people say the time goes soooo fast when you have kids and I can hardly comprehend that we are already at this day.. hmm.. where do we begin.. it was very surprising to find out I was pregnant with Lila (after everything we went through earlier in the year with Ava).. I will never forget our first visit to the Dr. at 6 weeks pregnant for an ultrasound and to our surprise there was two sacks.. my body could not carry one full term baby.. how in the world was I going to carry two???? After the initial shock went away..(we think) we went back for a second u/s the following week to find out that one was gone and to our relief that left only one...

Fast forward 8 1/2 months..with about 23 u/s, weekly shots from 16-36 weeks, 12 weeks of full bedrest, weeks 27-30 in the hospital, back in the hospital for 3 days in week 32.. we made it to this day last year.. I woke up around 12:30 a.m. with contractions.. I thought..hmm.. OK.. well I have been through this for the last 12 weeks how do I know this is it??? We timed my contractions for about 1 hour and they were pretty strong lasting about 1 minute every 4 minutes.. so we called the Dr. and she said OK.. well why don't you come in.. I said well how do I know it is not just like all the others?? She said well it is different now you are 37 weeks.. it is time. So we called my parents and they where all ready to go meet us at the hospital.. We arrived at about 3:30.. I was not really in to much pain.. so we got all checked in and they were ready to do an exam.. all I could say was PLEASE DON'T LET ME BE 3 cm.. (which I was for the last 10 weeks) she said oh.. you are 8 cm. how are you not in pain???? The one good thing about my labors are that the contractions were never very strong.. well I made it to about 9 1/2 and I started pushing.. she did not come out as fast as the Dr. thought so we had to re-think things.. I decided to get an epidural.. which was the BEST decision I have ever made.. and about 10 minutes and 2 pushes later our little girl was born.. as PERFECT as can be..

Lila..words cannot describe this little girl.. she is one of the MOST carefree and drama filled babies I have ever met.. She definitely walks (or crawls) to the beat of a different drummer... Her RED hair fully describes her characteristics.. and as my Mom said Lila thinks LIFE is funny..even though she can turn of the tears in a millisecond!!!!

Some of Lila's favorites:

*FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD..Lila loves food!!!! She would eat for hours if we would let her..
*She loves to laugh..
*Lila loves her Mommy..(and Daddy) but Mommy a little bit more..
*She loves her sister
*She thinks Bella is the funniest thing ever (wish we did too)..
*She loves her blankie

What is Lila doing these days:

*She can say Momma and Dadda (we think)
*She is starting to stand on her own
*She chews on everything
*She LOVES milk
*Is totally done with bottles

Happy birthday to Lila! She is the most adorable red-head I've ever seen - seriously. And she seems like a great laid back kinda girl!

Nate might be joining the red-headed crew too...we soon will see!
